A Dialogue Between God and the Devil

At a distant dawn, on the edge of light and shade,
The Devil stood in awe, bewildered by fate.
He said: “O Creator of worlds, O Holder of majesty,
You made man from clay, and granted him mind and clarity.

You gave him Paradise, and said: ‘Do not approach the forbidden,’
Yet he defied Your word, and followed my whisper, hidden.
Now he kills, deceives, betrays, and boasts of light,
Am I the sinner, O Lord, or is he the true blight?”

God said: “O creature of fire and pride,
You were the spark of temptation, the source of the tide.
But man has chosen—his will is his own,
I wronged him not; his path he has sown.”

The Devil said: “Chosen? Yes, but he chose me,
He saw in me ease, and in You the test of piety.
You gave him choice, but not to me,
So he fell to my call, and turned from Thee.”

God replied: “He who sins and then weeps,
He who strays and then seeks,
Knows that My mercy surpasses My wrath,
And whoever returns to Me, I forgive his path.”

The Devil fell silent, bowed in deep shame,
And said: “You speak truth, beyond all claim.
For mankind is darker than I when they forget the way,
I am but a means; they are the end of decay.”

God answered: “The curse of pride shall remain in you,
Yet within man, a light will always shine true.
Whoever follows your desire shall perish in strife,
But whoever returns to Me shall find eternal life.”

حوار بين الله والشيطان

في فجرٍ بعيدٍ، على حافةِ النورِ والظلال،
وقفَ الشيطانُ خاشعًا، والدهشةُ في المآل،
قالَ: يا خالقَ الأكوانِ، يا من بيدهِ الجلال،
خلقتَ بشرًا من طينٍ، ومنحتَهُ عقلًا ووصال.

أعطيتَهُ جنةً، وقلتَ لهُ: لا تقربِ المحظور،
فخالفَ أمركَ، واتبعَ همسي المكسور،
ها هو اليومَ يقتلُ، يظلمُ، يخونُ، ويغترُّ بالنور،
أأنا المذنبُ يا ربّ؟ أم هو الشرُّ المستور؟

قالَ اللهُ: يا مخلوقَ النارِ والغرور،
كنتَ سببَ الفتنةِ، وأصلَ الشرور،
لكنَّ الإنسانَ اختارَ، وما ظلمتُهُ في الأمور،
فهو حرٌّ بينَ النورِ والقبور.

قالَ الشيطانُ: حرٌّ؟ نعم، لكنَّهُ اختارَني،
رأى فيَّ طريقًا سهلاً، وفيكَ امتحانَ التقي،
أعطيتَهُ الاختيارَ، ولم تُعطني،
فهوى إليَّ، وتركَ سُبلكَ العلي.

فقالَ اللهُ: يا من عصى ثمَّ بكى،
يا من أغوى ثمَّ اشتكى،
ما علمتَ أنَّ رحمتي سبقتْ غضبي،
وأنَّ من عادَ إليَّ، غفرتُ لهُ ما جرى وما بكى.

فسكتَ الشيطانُ، وانحنى في خجلٍ عميق،
وقالَ: صدقتَ، يا من لا يُجارى في التحقيق،
فالبشرُ شرٌّ منِّي حينَ ينسونَ الطريق،
وأنا وسيلةٌ، وهم الغايةُ في الانحرافِ العتيق.

فأجابهُ اللهُ: ستبقى لعنةُ الكبرياءِ فيكَ،
وسيبقى في الإنسانِ نورٌ يهديهِ إليَّ،
فمن اتبعَ هواكَ، هلكَ في دنياكَ،
ومن عادَ إليَّ، وجدَ في رحمتي مأواه.
