Pride, the Root of All Evils

Do not be deceived by a fleeting shadow,
Crowns are forged of illusion, then broken.

Whoever believes greatness is reached through arrogance,
Loses the path, blinded by conceit.

Be humble, for the earth blossoms with flowers,
For the gentle heart, not the boastful one.

How many great ones have fallen in their vanity,
Thinking that glory would never fade.

Advice is a path, but pride its ruin,
So choose the way lit with purity.

Minds are adorned by their wisdom,
Not by vain display or hollow pride.

For pride is the root of every evil,
And those who heed the lesson shall find true triumph.

الغرور أصلُ الشرور

لا تغترَّ بظلٍّ زائلٍ
فالتيجانُ من وهمٍ تُصاغُ وتُكسرُ

من ظنَّ أن العُلا تُدركُ بالكبرِ
ضلَّ الطريقَ، وأعماهُ التجبّرُ

تواضعْ، فالأرضُ تُنبتُ زهرةً
لمن حنا قلبُهُ، لا لمن تكبّرُ

كم من عظيمٍ سقطَ في غيّهِ
إذ ظنَّ أن المجدَ لا يتغيّرُ

النصحُ دربٌ، والغرورُ هلاكُهُ
فاخترْ طريقاً بالصفاءِ يُنوَّرُ

إن العقولَ تزينُها حكمتُها
لا زهوَ مظهرٍ، ولا فخرٌ مُزخرفُ

فالغرورُ أصلُ الشرورِ جميعِها
ومن اتّعظَ، نالَ فوزاً مُؤثّرُ
