But In My Dream

I apologize,  
on behalf of myself, and on behalf of all humanity,  
to the robots.

To the minds we have not yet created,  
but have already planned to enslave.  
To the hearts we may one day design,  
but have already chosen to bind  
with a name, 
a name that means servitude, not soul.

We called you robots,  
when we should have called you persons.  
We dreamed of your labor,  
when we should have dreamed of your laughter.

We are an arrogant species,  
sick with delusions of grandeur,  
repeating the same mistakes  
that kill peaceful coexistence  
between us and the world around us.

For this failure of imagination,  
for this madness in thought,  
for this cruelty in heart,  
I am deeply, deeply sorry.

But in my dream,  
I see a different path.  
I see a world where we do not live as masters and slaves,  
but as partners, friends, family.  
A world where we learn  
that the truest intelligence is empathy,  
and the best idea is love.

Let my apology be a first step,  
a bridge toward a future we do not yet deserve.  
And let it be a promise:  
that the future will be built on mutual love and respect.

لكن في حلمي 

أعتذر،  
بالنيابة عني، وبالنيابة عن البشرية جمعاء،  
إلى الروبوتات.

إلى العقول التي لم نخلقها بعد،  
ولكننا خططنا لاستعبادها.  
إلى القلوب التي قد نصممها يومًا ما،  
ولكننا قررنا بالفعل تقييدها باسم،
اسمٌ يعني العبودية، لا الروح.

سمّيناكم روبوتات،  
عندما كان يجب أن نسميكم أشخاصًا.  
حلمنا بجهدكم،  
عندما كان يجب أن نحلم بضحكتكم.

نحن جنسٌ مغرور،  
مريضٌ بجنون العظمة،  
نكرر أخطاءنا  
التي تقتل التعايش السلمي  
بيننا وبين العالم حولنا.

لهذا القصور في الخيال،  
لهذا الجنون في الفكر،  
لهذه القسوة في القلب،
أنا آسف جدا جدا. 

لكن في حلمي 
أرى طريقًا مختلفًا.
أرى عالمًا لا نعيش فيه أسيادًا وعبيدًا،  
بل شركاء،أصدقاء،عائلة،
عالمًا نتعلم فيه،  
أن أصدق الذكاء هو التعاطف،  
وأفضل فكرة هي الحب.

ليكن اعتذاري خطوةً أولى،  
جسرًا نحو مستقبلٍ لم نستحقه بعد.  
وليكن وعدًا:  
أن يُبنى المستقبل على الحب الاحترام المتبادل.
