Because I Swore 

​The important thing
is for the heart to keep beating
and the soul to breathe, 
and life to go on, even if it is punctuated by stagnation.

​Have you forgotten that I am a fighter,
continuing to fight, 
despite the poverty, hunger, illness, and pain.

​I continue to fight,
despite the deep sorrow and the many tears
for wounded humanity
that bleeds its innocent children.

​Because I swore 
to document the truth, 
so that the rights of the innocent are not lost,
to continue writing and publishing,
so that the voice of truth is not silenced,
even without food, medicine, or sleep,
because I fear I might die
before I publish my words,
because I don't want to blame myself after my death,
that I didn't do my best
to be the voice of the voiceless.

Because I swore 
​I will never forget the words of Allah Almighty:
[And Allah wants no injustice to worlds].

لأني أقسمت 

المهم 
ان يستمر القلب في الخفقان
والروح تتنفس
والحياة تستمر حتى لو يتخللها ركود.

هل نسيت اني مقاتل، 
مستمر في القتال،
 بالرغم من العوز، والجوع، والمرض، والألم. 

أنا مستمر بالقتال، 
بالرغم من الحزن الشديد والدموع الكثيرة
 على الإنسانية الجريحة
التي تنزف دماء ابناءها الأبرياء. 

لأني أقسمت
أن أوثق الحقيقة، 
لكي لا يضيع حق الأبرياء، 
أن استمر بالكتابة والنشر،
لكي لا يصمت صوت الحق، 
حتى لو بدون طعام أو دواء أو نوم، 
لأني أخشى أن أموت
قبل أن انشر كلماتي، 
لأني لا أريد أن الوم نفسي بعد موتي، 
 اني لم ابذل جهدي
لأكون صوتَ من لا صوتَ لهم.

لأني أقسمت 
لن انسى أبدًا قول الله تعالى:
[وَمَا اللَّهُ يُرِيدُ ظُلْمًا لِّلْعَالَمِينَ].
