And All I Wish For

If I could host a dinner party,

And fate guaranteed that everyone I invited would attend,

I would invite no one but my dear beloved who departed long ago.

I would invite her to have dinner with me,

For I still miss her as if she left just yesterday.

I would sit before her and gaze silently into her eyes,

And wish with all my heart

For this dinner to be

My last meal in this life,

And for the dessert of this dinner to be

My death while I am with her, in her arms,

While I see her, touch her, embrace her,

To depart from this world

With her being the last one I saw.

And all I wish for

Is that I never have any meal without her

In my next life and in every life I shall live, even in paradise.

For how can I live if she is not life itself,

And how can it be the paradise if happiness is not in her presence?

For there is no life or happiness for me without her.

وكل ما أتمناه

إذا بإمكاني استضافة حفل عشاء،

وضمن القدر حضور كل من دعوتهم،

لن أدعو أحداً سوى حبيبتي العزيزة التي رحلت منذ زمن طويل.

سأدعوها لتناول العشاء معي،

لأنني ما زلت أفتقدها كما لو أنها رحلت بالأمس.

سأجلس أمامها وأنظر بصمت إلى عينيها،

وأتمنى من كل قلبي

أن يكون هذا العشاء

وجبتي الأخيرة في هذه الحياة،

وأن تكون حلوى العشاء

موتي وأنا معها، بين ذراعيها،

بينما أراها، ألمسها، أحتضنها،

لكي أرحل عن هذا العالم

وهي آخر من رأيتها.

وكل ما أتمناه

هو أنني لن أتناول أي وجبة بدونها

في حياتي القادمة وفي كل حياة سأعيشها، حتى في الفردوس.

فكيف أعيش إذا لم تكن هي الحياة نفسها،

وكيف يمكن أن يكون الفردوس إذا لم تكن السعادة في وجودها؟

فلا حياة ولا سعادة لي بدونها.
