If we cannot

If we cannot be free from living in the dark caves of our ignorance, how can we claim freedom?

If we wrong ourselves and each other instead of cooperating against the oppressor to remove the injustice from us, how can we demand justice?

If we are unable to love each other as God loves us unselfishly, how can we demand peace? 

If we are unable to look at each other as we are in God's eyes as equal, whatever our origin, religion, language or skin color, how can we demand equality? 

God does not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves

If we are not able to change before it is too late, no one, even God, will not be able to help us to avoid weeping over our ruined world, which we have made a great tomb for all of us, and then tears of regret will not help us because we have taken ourselves to something worse than hell

إذا لم نستطع

إذا لم نستطع التحرر من العيش في ظلمة كهوف جهلنا ، فكيف نطالب بالحرية؟

إذا ظلمنا أنفسنا وبعضنا البعض بدلاً من التعاون ضد الظالم لإزالة الظلم عنا ، فكيف نطالب بالعدالة؟

إذا كنا غير قادرين على أن نحب بعضنا البعض كما يحبنا الله بلا أنانية ، فكيف نطالب بالسلام؟

إذا كنا غير قادرين على النظر إلى بعضنا البعض كما نحن في نظر الله على قدم المساواة ، بغض النظر عن أصلنا أو ديننا أو لغتنا أو لون بشرتنا ، فكيف نطالب بالمساواة؟

لا يغير الله أحوال الناس حتى يغيروا ما في أنفسهم

إذا لم نتمكن من التغيير قبل فوات الأوان ، فلن يتمكن أحد ، حتى الله ، من مساعدتنا على تجنب البكاء على عالمنا المدمر ، الذي صنعناه مقبرة عظيمة لنا جميعًا ، ثم دموع الندم لن تساعدنا لأننا أخذنا أنفسنا إلى شيء أسوأ من الجحيم
