What am I most worried about in the future?

I worry that this world will continue to lose its humanity,

that we will become heartless numbers, commodities in a merciless market.

I worry that people will forget the meaning of love,

that childhood will die under the rubble of wars, 

and motherhood will freeze in the cold of displacement,

that poverty will become fate,

and injustice will become a system,

and truth will become a distant dream.

I worry that I will leave before I publish my words, 

before I cry out for the innocent,

before I become a voice for the voiceless.

Despite all the anxiety, 

I still believe that love is stronger,

and that peace is possible,

and that humans in their depth, are still human.

ما أكثر شيء أشعر بالقلق تجاهه في المستقبل؟

أقلق من أن يستمر هذا العالم في فقدان إنسانيته,

أن نصبح أرقامًا بلا قلوب، وسلعًا في سوق بلا رحمة.

أقلق من أن ينسى الناس معنى الحب،

أن تموت الطفولة تحت أنقاض الحروب،

وتتجمد الأمومة في برد النزوح،

أن يصير الفقر قدرًا، 

ويصير الظلم نظامًا،

ويصير الحق حلمًا بعيدًا.

أقلق أن أرحل قبل أن أنشر كلماتي، 

قبل أن أصرخ من أجل الأبرياء،

قبل أن أكون صوتًا لمن لا صوت لهم.

ولكن رغم كل القلق،

ما زلت أؤمن أن الحب أقوى،

وأن السلام ممكن،

وأن الناس في أعماقهم، ما زالوا بشرا.
